✅ Good News from Your Local Policing Team ✅

Team 1 PCSO conducted a Streetwatch walk with community volunteers from the Rushall Hall Streetwatch group. The group met with their designated PCSO from the St Matthew’s team.  Both the PCSO and the community volunteers patrolled the local area. Streetwatch members are all volunteers who are doing their bit for the community that they live in.  The patrols are managed and co-ordinated by the group themselves and don’t always involve a PCSO.  This particular patrol went well with positive engagements with residents from the area and vehicle intelligence received is ongoing and followed up appropriately.

Team 1 PCSO’s  have been out and about recently in partnership with Greensquare Accord Housing Officer. They visited properties and locations around St Matthew’s ward including Caldmore, where issues such as Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and neighbourhood issues have been causing problems, within the projects and the wider community they are in.  These visits are based on intelligence that is received from those people living in the community affected. 

PCSO’s and Officers have conducted a number of patrols in and around Walsall Arboretum due to the high footfall of park users because of the school holidays matched and sunny weather.  Some patrols have been on bike and on foot.  ASB issues were the main concern, but in the main the patrols were positive.

PCSO's have also conducted a speedwatch in hotspot areas that have been brought up by members of publics that live locally to the areas. Due to this the PCSO's were able to conduct a speedwatch resulting in numerous vehicles and the drivers being issued with speeding warning letters. 

📅 Upcoming Police & Community Engagements 📅

More speedwatches are set to take place in the local area, specifically the areas where speeding has been made a concern by the members of public who experience it from day to day. We will also be conducting more hi-vis patrols within the Walsall arboretum as ASB issues were raised to us and has since been made a priority. The local neighbourhood team will also continue to stay pro-active within the Walsall town centre, tackling any sort of crime that may be taking place whilst also engaging with the members of public who are coming to the town.
